Homeland Security authorities searched Combs’ Los Angeles residence on Monday, and they were also spotted at his Miami residence. The raids were connected to a federal human trafficking investigation, a U.S. official confirmed to Fox News.
Throughout his career, Combs has been a loyal supporter of Democrats, using his celebrity and star power to assist Democrats, including President Biden during the 2020 elections, in what appeared to be an effort to win over Black voters.
CNN noted that when Combs endorsed Biden’s candidacy in 2020, he also stated that “white men like [Donald] Trump need to be banished” in an interview with Charlamagne tha God. In the past, Trump and Combs have been pictured together, mostly on public occasions.
The searches of Combs’ residences were described by his attorneys as “a gross use of military-level force” on Tuesday, but they also affirmed Combs’ innocence.
Attorney Aaron Dyer released a statement saying, “Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences.” “There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.”
Saying that “no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations” has been made, Dyer referred to the claims as a “witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”
